The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake has received two new trailers ahead of its launch, with one offering a brief look at Dark Link and several new gameplay moments.

Dark Link appears for only a moment, around the 15-second mark, but the encounter is difficult to miss. The shadowy rival flips onto Link’s sword before the trailer moves on.

What the new trailers show
The footage includes Ganon playing the piano, Link travelling on a pirate ship and battles against a range of enemies inside dungeons. A second trailer uploaded to Nintendo’s Japanese YouTube account places more emphasis on the ocarina, the Master Sword and exploration across Hyrule.

A remake balancing history with modern design

The remake faces a difficult audience split. Fans of the original 1998 classic will be watching closely, while newer players may approach it through the influence Ocarina of Time has had on later adventure games. The early footage suggests Nintendo is attempting to respect both groups.
Several gameplay previews released this week have highlighted a more streamlined experience. One hands-on assessment described the remake as graphically impressive, responsive and polished, with updated play that still feels recognisably like Zelda.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is scheduled to launch on 5 November 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2.
Why the remake matters to arcade fans
Ocarina of Time is not an arcade game, but its readable combat, memorable enemies and exploration-focused structure make it a natural fit for players who enjoy classic game-room design.
