Larian Studios has run into another streaming-platform problem involving Baldur’s Gate 3. YouTube ended one of the developer’s regular livestreams after a lengthy scene involving nudity and sexual content triggered its rules on “Body Exposure and Sexualized Behaviors.”
The incident echoes an earlier pre-release setback. In 2023, TikTok banned a Larian presentation that included the game’s notorious bear encounter with Halsin. The latest interruption happened during the studio’s ongoing Dark Urge playthrough, which has been broadcast weekly on Twitch and YouTube for several months.
The August 5 stream is absent from Larian’s Channel From Hell archive, making it appear at first as though the YouTube broadcast had not taken place. The full recording remains available through the studio’s Twitch account.
Why YouTube stopped the stream
The likely trigger was a sexual encounter between the player character and Haarlep, an incubus who takes the form of the devil Raphael. Larian tried to obscure the explicit material with a D20 graphic, but the scene still contained visible nudity and ran for long enough to attract YouTube’s enforcement action.

Larian appeared to treat the disruption with good humour. The immediate question for viewers is whether Twitch will take similar action, since that recording is currently the remaining way to watch the complete Dark Urge session. A move to another streaming service would be the next possibility, although there is no indication that one is planned.
A challenging scene to produce
The Haarlep sequence was also among the more demanding intimate scenes for the development team. Larian previously explained that its comparatively direct, live-action-style choreography required extensive preparation during motion-capture work.
Performance director Greg Lidstone said the production used a closed set, ensured that everyone understood the intended actions, and prioritised the comfort of the people involved. Intimacy coordinators helped the team plan and manage the motion-capture sessions.
