Xbox is exploring a long-requested addition to its achievement system: a special reward for completing every achievement in a game, similar to PlayStation’s Platinum Trophy.
Asha Sharma, Xbox’s new CEO, confirmed the project in response to a fan asking when the platform would receive a Platinum Trophy equivalent. Sharma responded that the team is working on something planned for later in 2026.

How Xbox achievements currently work
At present, Xbox achievements add to a cumulative GamerScore shared across multiple games. Completing every achievement in one title marks that game as completed, but it does not award a separate, named achievement to recognise the milestone.
That difference gives the two systems a distinct feel. GamerScore represents an ongoing total, while a Platinum-style award would provide a clear finishing point for completing a game’s full achievement list.
