Xbox is expanding its controller range with a smaller, lighter option designed for portable play, younger players and people with smaller hands.
Xbox Nano Controller revealed at $49.99
Microsoft has announced the Xbox Nano Controller at a price of $49.99. It sits below the standard Xbox Wireless Controller, which starts at $64.99, and the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller, which starts at $149.99.
The compact model measures 5 inches wide and weighs 3.5 ounces. By comparison, both the Xbox Wireless Controller and Elite controller measure 6 inches wide, weighing approximately 10 ounces and 12 ounces respectively.
Despite its reduced dimensions, the Nano includes all 18 standard gameplay inputs. In practical terms, it offers the familiar Xbox control layout in a smaller body.
Features, compatibility and colour
The controller has a rechargeable battery and charges through USB-C. Bluetooth connectivity allows it to work with compatible PCs, mobile phones and smart TVs.
Microsoft lists support for Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, Xbox on PC, Windows, Android and iOS. The Nano is available in one colour: white.

Release date and pre-orders
The Xbox Nano Controller is scheduled to launch on November 4 in select territories. Microsoft has announced the controller, and pre-orders are already available.
Each account can order up to five controllers, a purchasing limit intended to discourage scalping. In the United States, selected Samsung TVs will also feature a holiday promotion that includes a special Nano Controller and two months of Game Pass Ultimate.
A smaller addition to a busy Xbox hardware year
The Nano arrives alongside other Microsoft announcements, including Xbox XP and Xbox Labs. Its focus is straightforward: provide the core Xbox controller experience in a more portable format and at a lower entry price.
Its size may also make it relevant for compact gaming rooms, travel setups and family play. Anyone considering controller repairs or custom arcade projects can browse arcade parts and controls for compatible project components and accessories.
