Blizzard may be asking players which new classes they would like to see in World of Warcraft: Forever. A reported Battle.net survey lists several long-requested possibilities, including Demon Hunter, Witch, Tinker, Bard and more.
The claims remain unverified. Multiple individuals playing WoW: Forever have reported receiving a survey prompt during the past week, but screenshots were reportedly prohibited. The survey also did not appear for every player who launched Battle.net.
Several players have nevertheless described the same class list. One further report claims to reproduce text descriptions from the survey, giving a rough indication of how each option might work.
Classes reportedly named in the survey
- Demon Hunter
- San’layn – Plate armour and vampire-like themes.
- Warden – Tank and melee damage roles with plate armour. The reported abilities are unclear because the description may have used San’layn abilities instead.
- Death Knight
- Necromancer – A cloth-armour caster using shadow- and death-themed abilities, potentially overlapping with the Warlock concept.
- Witch – A cloth-armour ranged damage and support class. Reported abilities include summoning a buffing cauldron and creating a blood golem by spending some of the caster’s health.
- Tinker – A mail-armour tank, ranged damage and support class that builds a mech, fires rockets and drops supplies to heal allies.
- Metalborn/Runesmith – Different reports used different names. This mail-armour class reportedly uses runic power and transforms its body into metal for attacks.
- Bard – A leather-armour support and healing class that uses songs to strengthen allies and weaken enemies.
- Illusionist – A leather-armour ranged damage class able to create illusory murlocs or other monsters, as well as mirror images.
- Monk
Demon Hunter, Death Knight and Monk already exist in the retail version of World of Warcraft, having arrived through different expansions. Their possible WoW: Forever versions could still function differently. The other names would be new to the MMORPG, although Wardens and Tinkers have appeared in other Warcraft settings.
Adding every class at once would be a dramatic change, with major consequences for balance and character roles. That is particularly true because several of the reported options appear to include support gameplay.
Could support classes work in WoW: Forever?
Support is not a formal group role in WoW Classic or WoW: Forever. Retail World of Warcraft has experimented with the idea through one of the Evoker’s specialisations, but that playstyle has become less optimal because the wider game is not balanced around groups including a dedicated support character.
A fresh start with the Classic format could provide a useful environment for testing multiple support specialisations. It would also give players more room to experiment with party composition, provided the new roles were balanced around the game’s existing systems.

Nothing has been confirmed
There is still no confirmation that the survey is genuine, that its descriptions are accurate or that Blizzard intends to develop any of the listed classes. Even if the survey exists, its results could simply lead to the decision that new classes are not suitable for WoW: Forever.
The most unusual suggestions are likely to attract the strongest interest. Tinker and San’layn would offer especially distinct directions, while Bard could introduce a long-requested musical support identity. Whether Blizzard chooses those concepts, adapts existing classes or does nothing remains unknown.
