How to Complete the ‘Lullaby’ Quest in Valor Mortis

The ‘Lullaby’ side quest in Valor Mortis takes place during Chapter 3. To finish it, you must investigate a haunted house, find a Weathered Key, retrieve a toy and return it to a crying baby’s ghost. The route includes some backtracking, but the reward is worthwhile.

How to start ‘Lullaby’ in Valor Mortis

You can begin the quest around the midpoint of Chapter 3. After completing three loops around the Fields Lantern area, where you may have already dealt with ‘The Scarecrow’, defeat the Volunteer standing in front of the wagon.

Continue until you reach the Marketplace Lantern. Turn left towards the river and enter the house on your left.

Inside, examine the crib in the first room. This starts ‘Lullaby’ and reveals your objective: calm the baby’s restless spirit.

How to complete ‘Lullaby’ in Valor Mortis

Leave the house through the rear door and deal with the two civilian zombies in the backyard. Once they are defeated, pick up the Weathered Key from the ground behind them.

Return to the Marketplace Lantern, move through the wagon and turn right. If the Volunteer has returned, you can attack him from inside the wagon, making it harder for him to hit you. Alternatively, teleport to the Fields Lantern and take the route through the hayfields to avoid the fight.

On the far side of the hamlet, use the platforms to jump across the river. The Weathered Key now allows you to enter the house on the opposite bank.

Search the house and collect the toy. Then retrace your route to the original house and return to the crib where the baby’s ghost is waiting.

Place the toy in the crib to complete the ‘Lullaby’ side quest. Your rewards are 1,500 catalysts and the Tomorrow’s Promise amber.
