Triple-i Initiative Showcase returns this October
Evil Empire’s Triple-i Initiative Showcase is returning for its third year, with the next presentation scheduled for 8 October 2026. The Bordeaux-based developer’s not-for-profit event focuses entirely on upcoming independent games, promising a concise broadcast with no advertisements and no host.
The 45-minute showcase will feature around 40 games, including Dave the Diver, Risk of Rain 2 and Windrose, a player-versus-environment pirate survival game. Viewers can expect world premieres, gameplay footage, release-date announcements and other updates.
What to expect from the showcase
The autumn presentation will include eight exclusive world premieres. It will also bring news about Hela: of Mice and Magic, Militsioner, the new Among Us game, Pony Island 2: Panda Circus, Haunted Paws and Outward 2.
The event’s tightly defined format is central to its identity. Organisers receive more than 300 submissions but have only about 40 places to fill, keeping the presentation to roughly 45 minutes. That limited space means the final selection must balance the overall lineup as well as the individual games.
With a concentrated audience, the organisers need each game to fit naturally alongside the rest of the programme. A lineup dominated by one genre could make an announcement from a very different genre harder to appreciate.
That focused approach has helped the initiative grow internationally from year to year. Rather than trying to cover every kind of release, the showcase is aimed at viewers who are especially interested in creative independent games.
