Touhou Perfect Sakura Fantastica has begun shipping as the 24th game released for the exA-Arcadia arcade platform. Japanese orders have already been fulfilled, with at least 21 locations there already featuring the game. Although Japan is likely to be its biggest market, the title is also available internationally.
This arcade release remakes the seventh Touhou game. Touhou 6 through 8 are widely regarded by fans as the series’ defining era, following the earlier PC titles that established the formula. Perfect Sakura Fantastica also represents the first time the Touhou series has officially appeared in arcades.

Arcade-focused improvements
The exA-Arcadia version reduces input lag to two frames, compared with six frames in the original PC release. It adds new voice performances from several prominent anime voice actors, along with new modes and additional story content.
The game supports both horizontal and vertical displays, although vertical orientation is recommended for the best experience. Its price sits slightly below both of CAVE’s exA releases, making future sales comparisons interesting, even though arcade sales figures are rarely published.
Three exA-Arcadia kit options

Complete Limited Edition
The Complete Limited Edition is scheduled to begin shipping in September. It includes the artwork shown below as well as the contents of the Limited Edition kit. Created by Liao Wei, the artwork accompanies numbered exA systems. Once the limited run sells out, no further units will be produced.
Limited Edition software kit
The Limited Edition software kit contains the game software without an exA board, which places it at half the price of the Complete Limited Edition. Its contents include:
- A1-size poster
- Standard Japanese and English art set
- Vewlix art set, including marquee, bezel stickers and a Japanese Vewlix-sized instruction strip
- Special blue game cartridge
- Sanwa joystick accessories set, comprising an exA-Arcadia joystick ball, dust cover and three-button set
- One 180 cm Touhou Perfect Sakura Fantastica POP, with a choice of four designs
Standard software kit
The standard software kit uses a similar configuration but excludes the 180 cm POP and the exA joystick accessories. Operators planning a dedicated setup can also browse RETROCADE’s arcade machines and arcade parts categories.
With lower input latency, extra content and support for both screen orientations, Touhou Perfect Sakura Fantastica gives exA-Arcadia another distinctive shoot ’em up release while bringing Touhou to dedicated arcades for the first time.
