The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered has received another update, with Patch 5.01 addressing visual problems across PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Released on 9 October 2026, the patch also improves PlayStation 5 optimisation and adds more graphics controls for console players.

The most visible change concerns bloom, a lighting effect that made some environments appear washed out. Players can now disable bloom entirely, while additional options allow them to adjust light shafts and depth of field. These settings were previously available on PC but not on consoles.

CD Projekt Red has also adjusted ray tracing, path tracing, character lighting and tone mapping. Console players should see a more consistent presentation, while PC players receive fixes related to dynamic resolution scaling.
The update arrives less than two weeks after the remastered release, which has already required several hotfixes and patches. The upgrade was designed to give returning fans a stronger version of the large-scale role-playing game, but its visual changes also introduced issues that needed further attention.

Which platforms receive the update?
Patch 5.01 is available for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. CD Projekt Red is preparing a separate version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered for Nintendo Switch 2, so this patch does not cover that platform.
The update is particularly relevant to the many players who received a free copy after taking advantage of a duplication loophole. For the complete official change list, read the official patch announcement.

More fixes may still be needed
Although Patch 5.01 resolves several prominent graphics concerns, player feedback continues to highlight bugs and other requests. The game’s size means occasional glitches can still appear, and further updates may follow as CD Projekt Red reviews that feedback. The detailed patch notes provide the full list of changes.
