Play Mechanix and Raw Thrills have revealed a major content update for Big Buck Hunter Reloaded, including the complete arcade version of The Walking Dead.
The announcement followed the Big Buck Hunter World Championship XVI, where more than $100,000 in cash prizes was awarded throughout the event. The new content was presented during the championship, giving players a preview of what is planned for the next update.
The Walking Dead joins Big Buck Hunter
The Walking Dead originally launched as an arcade-exclusive game in 2017. It was developed by Play Mechanix and Raw Thrills, and has appeared in modern arcades since then. With the new update, the full game will also be included on Big Buck Hunter Reloaded machines, making it easier for players to find.
The update trailer
The trailer covers more than the zombie-themed addition. The wider update introduces six new mini-games and brings back the caribou animal. Unlike a limited side mission such as the Terminator Salvation: Delta Mission content, The Walking Dead is being added as a complete game within the Big Buck Hunter package.

This update gives the series three zombie-focused experiences:
- Doe of the Dead
- Zombie Deer
- The Walking Dead
The trailer identified the release window as November 2023. At the time of the announcement, the update was expected to become officially available during the following week, around the IAAPA event.
