The Batman Part II is set to resume production with Steven Soderbergh helping complete the final weeks of principal photography while director Matt Reeves deals with an ongoing family matter.

Steven Soderbergh steps in during production pause
Filming was taking place in London before production was temporarily halted earlier in October. DC Studios confirmed the pause and offered its support to Reeves.
Deadline reports that Soderbergh volunteered to help finish the remaining photography. Reeves will stay in contact with him during the process and is expected to oversee post-production once he can return.
Soderbergh, whose credits include Ocean’s Eleven and Traffic, has praised Reeves’ work on 2022’s The Batman. He said the aim is to create footage that fits smoothly with the material already filmed, allowing Reeves to complete the film in line with his established vision.

Release date remains scheduled for 2028
It is not yet clear whether the interruption will affect the sequel’s planned cinema release. The Batman Part II is currently scheduled to open on 18 February 2028, almost six years after the first film arrived in March 2022.
Robert Pattinson will again play Bruce Wayne, with Andy Serkis returning as Alfred Pennyworth and Colin Farrell reprising his role as the Penguin.
