The 2026 Street Fighter film brings Capcom and Legendary’s fighting-game franchise back to cinemas for its third major live-action Hollywood adaptation. Directed by Kitao Sakurai, the film brings together every World Warrior from Street Fighter II, alongside characters from the original arcade game and the Alpha series.
With almost four decades of game lore behind it, the film leaves plenty of room for future stories. Here is a spoiler-conscious guide to what happens during and after the credits.

Is there a mid-credits scene?

Yes. You should remain in your seat for the mid-credits sequence. It echoes the film’s opening, in which Ryu fights Sagat during the first World Warrior Tournament, but the new scene looks ahead rather than revisiting earlier events.
The sequence is animated instead of live action. Sagat is shown training with remarkable intensity, striking tree trunks with his shins. M. Bison then appears, fully charged with Psycho Power, accompanied by Cammy, Balrog and Vega.
The scene suggests that Bison wants to bring Sagat into his plans for a third World Warrior Tournament. That storyline would presumably be developed in a sequel, although any continuation depends on the film’s box-office performance.

Why Sagat matters to the games
Sagat has been part of Street Fighter since the series’ first arcade release in 1987, where he is the final opponent and is known as the “Emperor of Muay Thai”. In Street Fighter II, released in 1991, he serves as Bison’s bodyguard and appears among the final opponents in arcade mode.
His rivalry with Ryu is central to the character’s story. Sagat seeks revenge after Ryu permanently scarred him with a shoryuken during their first encounter.

Does Street Fighter have a post-credits scene?

No. The mid-credits sequence is the film’s final narrative scene. Once it has finished, there is no additional post-credits story to wait for, so viewers can leave the cinema.
