Avengers: Doomsday has a new 30-second teaser, released on October 24, and it packs in more fresh footage than its brief runtime suggests. The trailer gives particular attention to Captain America, with Steve Rogers, Sam Wilson and John Walker all appearing.
Steve Rogers proves he is the real Captain America
The teaser opens with Steve Rogers summoning Mjolnir directly from Thor’s hand. He is not shown fighting with the hammer in that moment; instead, the gesture appears intended to confirm that he is the genuine Steve Rogers.
Later, Steve is still carrying Thor’s weapon when he asks whether its owner minds. The pair then travel through the Bifrost. Captain America using Mjolnir was a standout moment in Avengers: Endgame, and the new footage leaves open the possibility that he will wield it in combat again.
What else appears in the teaser?
Between the two Mjolnir scenes, the trailer shows Doctor Doom in combat and Professor X apparently watching the destruction of another world. Invisible Woman and The Thing are also seen meeting M’Baku and Black Panther.
The teaser’s comic highlight comes when Ant-Man addresses Steve as Captain America. He then struggles to explain that three people who have technically held the title are in the same room, with Sam Wilson and John Walker present alongside Steve.
A shorter, lighter glimpse at Doomsday
The footage does not reveal major plot details, but its tone stands apart from the film’s other trailers. Rather than leaning entirely into seriousness, this teaser has more of the humour associated with earlier Avengers films, which may offer a better indication of the finished movie’s mood.
For fans who enjoy the tactile appeal of classic entertainment hardware, the trailer’s quick-fire character moments have the same immediate readability as a well-designed arcade news story. Those planning a dedicated game room can also compare options in the arcade machine buying guide or browse full-size arcade machines.
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on December 18.
