Spooky Pinball has revealed the two machines planned to carry its range into 2024: Looney Tunes and Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Details arrived in stages, but both games have now received their full reveals.
Looney Tunes pinball
Spooky first hinted at its Looney Tunes machine in what was first teased in a brief trailer, before following up with a longer reveal.
The early impression is positive. The playfield appears energetic, the artwork captures the cartoon series’ distinctive character, and the colour palette suits the theme. A particularly unusual feature is the cliff diverter, a mechanism not commonly seen on pinball machines, even though similar ideas have appeared elsewhere.
Spooky also released pricing information for the game. The listed figure for the “Blood Sucker Edition” appears likely to contain a typographical error.
The Looney Tunes machine uses the same basic design approach as Spooky’s Scooby-Doo game, which was announced almost a year earlier.
For readers comparing the machine with other virtual pinball machines, the key attraction here is the dedicated physical theme, artwork and feature set. The big question is which characters and cartoon moments will receive the greatest focus.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre pinball
Spooky Pinball is also producing a Texas Chainsaw Massacre machine. Like Looney Tunes, it reuses the same underlying design, following the company’s earlier practice of announcing Ultraman and Halloween together with a shared layout.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre presentation is longer and places more emphasis on the film’s source material. That difference suggests this title may have been developed first, with the Looney Tunes version adapting the same foundation afterwards. A horror theme is also a natural fit for a manufacturer with “Spooky” in its name.
The pricing shown for Texas Chainsaw Massacre matches the pricing presented for Looney Tunes above. For anyone considering a dedicated arcade machine or pinball-style setup, the choice ultimately comes down to whether the bright cartoon licence or the darker horror theme is the stronger draw.
