Fortnite is adding Sora from Kingdom Hearts, but the crossover’s version of the usually cheerful hero has an unusually vacant look. The character arrives during the game’s current Gaming Legends season, with more Kingdom Hearts additions expected later this week.

The arrival follows the game’s increasingly broad approach to collaborations. After playing Fortnite during its KPop Demon Hunters event, some players may be forgiven for feeling crossover fatigue. The battle royale has become one of the clearest examples of entertainment brands converging inside a single game.
Why Fortnite’s Sora looks unusual
There is a practical reason many Fortnite outfits can appear slightly unusual: every playable character needs to fit the same gameplay hitbox. Even so, Sora’s expression attracts most of the attention. His normally bright, animated face has been replaced with a distant, almost lifeless stare.
That design choice makes the skin feel especially strange when compared with the optimistic hero seen throughout Kingdom Hearts. The contrast is likely to fuel plenty of discussion among fans who already scrutinise how familiar characters translate into the game’s stylised world.
Whether this version of Sora is more unsettling than the long-legged “Long Sonic” meme is difficult to settle. Either way, the crossover gives players another unusual character design to debate while Epic continues expanding its roster of licensed guests.
