Sea of Thieves: 2026 Edition

Rare’s pirate adventure has remained active since launching in 2018, receiving years of updates that have expanded its open-world voyages and exploration. Players can hunt for buried treasure, sail between destinations and fight rival crews controlled by other players.

The game holds an 88% user score on Steam from almost 150,000 reviews. It is free to play until September 21 at 1 p.m. local time and is currently discounted by 65%.

Blizzard’s 2023 action RPG is the largest release in this weekend’s selection. The isometric looter RPG normally costs $49.99, but the trial lets players progress until they reach level 30.

As in earlier entries, combat centres on defeating monsters, collecting equipment and developing a powerful character build. The game has a Mostly Positive Steam rating, with 73% of user reviews marked positive. The free period ends September 21 at 1 p.m. local time, while the game remains 75% off until September 24.

Crystal Crisis

Crystal Crisis is a competitive puzzle game in the style of Puzzle Fighter, bringing together characters from several recognised indie series. Its roster includes Isaac from The Binding of Isaac and Quote from Cave Story.

The game has an 81% Steam user score and normally sells for $19.99. Redeem it by September 21 at 11:59 p.m. local time and it is yours to keep.

Jump Space

Jump Space is an early-access cooperative game for one to four players. Its science-fiction missions combine ship-to-ship combat, exploration on foot and jetpack movement as crews attempt to survive deep-space encounters.

It has an 87% user score on Steam and a standard price of $19.99. The free-play window closes September 21 at 1 p.m. local time. Prospective players should note that the game uses AI-generated content for some voice acting.

Last Flag

Last Flag is a five-versus-five hero shooter built around capturing a flag. One side hides its flag while the opposing team searches for it and attempts to take it. The studio behind the game, Night Street Games, is owned by Dan Reynolds, the lead singer of Imagine Dragons.

The game launched earlier this year to a subdued reception and reached a 24-hour peak of just 12 players, according to SteamDB. It can nevertheless be tried free until September 21 at 1 p.m. local time.

Space Menace

The final title is Space Menace, a real-time strategy game set in space. Released in 2022, it attracted limited attention and currently has a 57% Steam user rating, with player criticism focused on shallow and repetitive gameplay.

It normally costs $6.99, but the game is free to keep when claimed before September 23 at 10 a.m.
