Sega Amusements is preparing its largest-ever presence at IAAPA Expo Europe, taking place in Barcelona, Spain, towards the end of September 2025. The showcase will feature new arcade releases, social entertainment attractions and products from partner manufacturers.
For Australian operators and collectors following the latest arcade industry news, the most notable announcement is the European debut of Ubisoft All-Star VR, alongside a more compact version of Apex Rebels.
Ubisoft All-Star VR brings Ubisoft characters into a new ride
Ubisoft All-Star VR is being developed by LAI Games, following the success of Virtual Rabbids. Early testing of the new virtual-reality attraction was reported in May, but its first major public presentation will now take place at IAAPA Expo Europe rather than waiting for the main IAAPA show in November.
The interactive experience features characters from Assassin’s Creed, Splinter Cell, Just Dance and Far Cry. While its character designs have a loose visual connection to Ubisoft’s browser and mobile All-Star Blast game, the arcade attraction is a separate product with a more elaborate 3D presentation.
Players use a mounted gun incorporating LAI’s “patent-pending Axis Haptic Controller”. The attraction will be offered in two cabinet formats, including the four-player version shown in promotional material, apparently created by linking two two-player units.
The larger configuration uses 17.4-inch cinematic LED walls and motion seats driven by D-BOX G5 actuators. The headset manufacturer has not yet been confirmed, so any suggestion that DPVR may be involved remains unverified.
The game is already listed on Segaarcade.com. Sega Amusements is presenting it because the company also acts as a manufacturer and a limited-territory distributor for businesses including LAI Games and ICE in Europe and the Middle East. LAI Games is expected to provide further information through its own channels, and the product may ship before November, although no release timing has been confirmed.
Apex Rebels Standard targets smaller venues
Apex Rebels is not a new title, but its newly announced Standard cabinet gives operators an alternative to the larger deluxe model. Earlier plans had referred to a smaller version before attention shifted to the deluxe package. Sega has now proceeded with the more affordable configuration after recent testing, following a format also used by titles such as ATV Slam.
The Standard edition removes the motion base and dot-matrix video marquee, while changing to a 43-inch screen. The rest of the game is retained, and the cabinet receives a “multicoloured glimmering 3D header” in place of the deluxe marquee. This appears similar in concept to the marquee treatment used on Alpha Ops VR Strike with 3MindWave.
No additional tracks have been announced for the Standard release. Adding more content could increase the cost, although the existing game remains unchanged in the information released so far.
Subsoccer Arcade expands its European presence
Subsoccer Arcade sits within the social-entertainment portion of the stand. The attraction previously appeared at IAAPA Expo Europe 2024 through a special presentation by North American distributor Primetime Amusements, and Sega Amusements is now giving it broader representation in Europe.
Operators can use the machine in free-play or pay-to-play configurations, with Sega promoting the pay-to-play setup for sales. It supports tap-to-pay and is understood to work with existing card systems. A fogged glass playing surface remains one of its most distinctive features: the top is frosted when the machine has not been paid for and becomes clear while the play timer is active.
Interactive Mini Golf joins the social-entertainment lineup
501 Fun’s Interactive Mini Golf will also be displayed. The attraction first appeared at EAG earlier in 2025 and had only recently begun shipping, meaning it may not yet have a wide venue presence. Its appearance at IAAPA Expo Europe should provide additional exposure for the new product.
Other products planned for the Sega Amusements stand
Alpha Ops VR Strike will make one of its first Western trade-show appearances in its release configuration. That version is expected to include cabinet improvements such as the updated marquee and a more expressive lighting system, together with the completed software package covering all three stages.
501’s SMARTS darts system will return, joined by Interactive Mini Golf. The redemption selection will include the Mini Cube Prize World range of stackable cranes and merchandisers, the Allstars Sports range and products from ICE.
A promotion in the September issue of InterGame Magazine also mentions Cyberpunk 2077: Turf Wars and a new two-player version of On Target. Neither product appears in Sega Amusements’ published event announcement, so their IAAPA Expo Europe attendance has not been confirmed.

Pricing has not been announced
Sega Amusements has not released prices for these products. Ubisoft All-Star VR is expected to sit towards the higher end of the market, potentially near the pricing previously associated with Virtual Rabbids, but that remains an estimate.
The Standard version of Apex Rebels is intended to reduce the cost of entry by removing the motion base and upgrading fewer presentation elements. No confirmed price is available. Recent racing machines have commonly occupied an estimated $12,000–$15,000 range, while larger deluxe models have often reached approximately $18,000–$25,000; these figures are industry comparisons rather than announced prices for Apex Rebels Standard.
