Raw Thrills has released T-Rex Safari VR Adventure, a dinosaur-themed virtual-reality attraction for arcades and family entertainment centres. Its arrival was announced on Groundhog Day, although this prehistoric safari has considerably more to offer than a seasonal weather tradition.
Where T-Rex Safari fits in Raw Thrills’ VR line-up
T-Rex Safari VR Adventure is Raw Thrills’ fourth released VR project. It follows King Kong of Skull Island, its sequel, and the VR version of MotoGP.
The attraction underwent location testing alongside King Kong of Skull Island II in May 2023. Unlike that sequel, however, it was not shown on Betson’s IAAPA booth or Bandai Namco Amusement Europe’s EAG stand.
The finished game has now reached arcades ahead of Raw Thrills’ Godzilla VR attraction, which was expected to arrive around March or April 2024. King Kong of Skull Island II had already appeared in November 2023 as an upgrade kit, while T-Rex Safari is launching only as a complete dedicated machine. That places three giant-monster attractions in competition for operator and venue attention.
T-Rex Safari VR cabinet and hardware
The cabinet shares the broad design approach of King Kong, but uses its own dinosaur artwork. Players use an HP Reverb 2 VR headset housed in protective armour, while the rear of the unit carries both a 43-inch and a 55-inch 4K display.
Motion seats, wind effects and gesture sensors are also part of the attraction. Unlike King Kong of Skull Island II, the new game is not offered as an upgrade kit; operators must purchase the dedicated cabinet.
Four dinosaur-filled VR levels
The software presents four short stages built around exploration, creature encounters and physical interaction. Players can feed, pet and ride prehistoric animals, then take part in activities including swatting attacking creatures or avoiding falling objects.
More playful scripted moments include feeding dinosaurs, hatching eggs, holding baby dinosaurs and interacting with turtles. The experience also moves beyond land: players can fly with a Quetzalcoatlus, swim alongside a Mosasaurus and race through the jungle with a T-Rex.

Each level runs for approximately three and a half minutes. The emphasis on gentle encounters and interactive discovery gives T-Rex Safari a stronger edutainment flavour than Raw Thrills’ usual arcade releases, making the format potentially suitable for dinosaur museums as well as conventional family entertainment venues.

A machine price had not been published at the time of the announcement. The cabinet was listed on Betson’s website, with further distributor listings expected to follow.
