PS Plus October 2026: Mafia and Horizon Join the Catalog

PlayStation Plus subscribers on the higher tiers can access a substantial October update, led by Mafia: The Old Country and Horizon Forbidden West. Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed the lineup, with the first wave beginning on 20 October 2026 for US subscribers.

For Australian players, the dates below should be treated as the published US schedule. Sony’s announcement confirms the games and listed platforms, but this update does not provide separate Australian release timings.

Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed the October additions, which arrive across several staggered dates rather than in a single release.

Mafia: The Old Country leads the October update

Mafia: The Old Country is a prequel set in Sicily during the early 1900s. Its story draws on the origins of the Sicilian Mafia and follows Enzo Favara as he becomes involved with the Torrisi crime family.

Although gunfights and criminal activity are central to the game, its setting also examines poverty and labour conditions affecting Italians in the early twentieth century. That social context gives the latest entry a more serious dimension than a straightforward crime-action story.

How the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog works

The Game Catalog contains PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 games for subscribers to PlayStation Plus tiers above Essential. It offers hundreds of games that eligible members can download and play, making it Sony’s subscription-based alternative to Xbox Game Pass.

October’s separate PS Plus Essential selection is also available to download and includes the racing title F1 25. Racing fans can continue the theme with RETROCADE’s racing simulators, while horror and action players can explore arcade light guns for a different kind of home gaming setup.

The staggered schedule gives subscribers several reasons to return throughout October. The Midnight Walk is listed first on 14 October, while Mafia: The Old Country, Horizon Forbidden West, Mycopunk, Dino Crisis 2 and RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition follow on 20 October. The remaining listed games arrive on 27 October.
