Polycade has launched a Kickstarter campaign for the Sente, a redesigned arcade cabinet intended to become its most capable model yet. The campaign covers the company’s digital distribution platform and a new approach to modular arcade hardware.
How the Polycade Platform Works

What Makes the Polycade Sente Different?
The Sente can be installed on a wall or paired with a separate stand. It is also positioned below the Lux in price, an unusual point of difference at a time when many arcade products have become more expensive.
The cabinet is primarily aimed at home players and commercial free-play environments. Polycade was also developing a pay-to-play commercial solution, with more details expected to be announced later the following year.
Its interchangeable controls are secured from below, while access is provided through a lockable front door:
“Swap out panels are bolted from underneath with access from the front door that locks.”
That arrangement should make changing control panels more practical, particularly for owners who want different configurations at home. For commercial venues, however, the removable components would need to be secured appropriately.
Kickstarter Timing and Fulfilment
At the time of the campaign update, the Kickstarter had eight days remaining and was scheduled to close on 7 December. The campaign page listed fulfilment for March 2024. Polycade also appeared to be planning its full pay-to-play models around that period, potentially ahead of Amusement Expo.
