Pokémon TCG Pocket is adding a new card category when its next major expansion, Dual Fusion, launches on 28 October 2026 at 6:00 pm. The update introduces dual-type Pokémon cards alongside anniversary activities, special packs and limited-time events.

Dual-type cards arrive in Pokémon TCG Pocket
The defining feature of Dual Fusion is the arrival of cards that give one Pokémon two types instead of one. The physical Pokémon Trading Card Game has used dual-type cards before, but this expansion marks their debut in the mobile game.
Mega Mewtwo X ex is one announced example, combining Psychic and Fighting types. The new cards also feature detailed illustrations, including the Pokémon shown below. More details are available in the official Dual Fusion announcement.

Second-anniversary rewards and deck rentals
Dual Fusion arrives alongside the game’s second anniversary. From the expansion’s release through 14 December, players will receive a ticket that can be exchanged for a booster pack guaranteed to contain a two-star card.
From 15 December, players will also be able to rent six Dual Fusion decks. The rental system will provide a way to try the new cards and explore strategies built around the expansion’s dual-type mechanics.
