Pokémon Pokopia has two categories of lost relics to uncover: large pieces that become island furnishings and small items designed for framed wall displays. This guide covers how to find, appraise and catalogue them.

Relics can also be donated to Gimmighoul at the Rocky Ridges museum in exchange for random furniture. The Bubbly Basin DLC adds large sunken relics, which are found underwater.

For more gaming and arcade coverage, visit the RETROCADE Arcade Blog, or use the arcade machine buying guide when planning a home game room.

How to find and appraise lost relics

Look for blocks with light shining from them, then use Rock Smash to excavate them. These locations can contain mysterious slates, fossils, CDs and Drifloon dolls, although lost relics are a common discovery.

The glow is much easier to see at night. In daylight, yellow light can disappear against yellow terrain, including the sand and grass around Bleak Beach.

Feeding Mosslax sweet food such as Pecha Berries increases the chance of finding artefacts. The Mosslax boost information provides the relevant feeding details. Mosslax is unlocked by completing more requests in Bleak Beach.

The Dowsing Machine, paired with a Pokémon that has the Search specialty, can help locate treasure hidden in cliffs and underground areas.

Professor Tangrowth offers to appraise a lost relic in Pokémon Pokopia

Professor Tangrowth must appraise an excavated relic before its identity is revealed. You can also use the PC in Palette Town instead of visiting in person. The free update released alongside the Bubbly Basin DLC allows up to 10 relics to be appraised at once through the PC.

Complete large relics list

Large relics are furnishing items for your island. Some can be powered by electricity, while others, such as the meteor lamp, have colour variations. Certain pieces are also required for Pokémon habitats; the Pikachu sofa is needed to summon Mimikyu.

Large relics may appear in the daily shop or PC shop, be produced through 3D printing from photographs, or be found already placed around the island. The Horsea Fountain can appear in the standard PC shop after you reach the required Environment Level. However, a relic obtained without excavation will not be recorded in the Ancient Artifacts section of the collection menu.

Check glowing excavation points whenever you explore, particularly after dark. Appraise finds in batches through the Palette Town PC, then use the collection menu to see which items still need to be excavated personally.

If you enjoy display-focused game rooms, browse RETROCADE’s arcade machines or consider a compact bartop arcade for an Australian home.
