Build the Beautiful Building! walkthrough

Build the Beautiful Building! is an important request from the Bubbly Basin DLC in Pokémon Pokopia. The mission centres on restoring the underwater town by helping Popplio gather Pokémon, habitats and materials for a large ocean temple.

You can complete many of the objectives in a flexible order, but the request becomes available after reaching Environment Level 3. Popplio will then lead you up the stairs and show you the building site.

1. Prepare the building site

  1. Remove all the sand and grass inside the construction area. The boundary fence may be hidden at first, but clearing the blocks will reveal it.
  2. Finish the requests from Corphish, Corsola and Mareanie if you have not done so. Corphish asks you to build a Sharpedo structure, Corsola introduces watermelon farming, and Mareanie explains how to clean pearls.

2. Complete Totodile’s requests

  1. Find Totodile north of the town, near the wrecked bridge, and speak to it.
  2. Play three rounds of “look that way”. Totodile always looks in the opposite direction and wins each round.
  3. Follow Totodile to begin its next request, which involves switching on a bubble machine.
  4. Build the fluffy relaxation habitat. When Chinchou appears, take it to the northern room where you last spoke with Totodile, then activate the bubble machine to finish the request.

3. Help Frillish in the north-west cave

  1. Locate Frillish inside the cave on the north-west side of the map.
  2. Explore the first section of the cave to complete the opening part of its request.
  3. Continue deeper into the same cave and collect the hidden Starmie doll for the second part.

4. Help Barboach find a home

  1. Travel north from the ocean temple building kit, then head east before the bridge where you met Totodile. Speak with Barboach.
  2. Dive into the nearby pit and search for Barboach’s seashell seat. It is on the eastern side of the dark area, beside the Comfort Café Now Open! record.
  3. Use mushroom lamps or collect lampions to improve visibility while searching.
  4. Return the seashell seat to Barboach. It will then ask you to use it when building a home.
  5. Create the ocean rest spot habitat and speak with Barboach again to complete the request.

5. Gather the residents and construction supplies

  1. Speak with Popplio and tell it that its three friends have been found.
  2. Bring Corphish, Corsola, Mareanie, Totodile, Frillish, Barboach and nine additional Pokémon to the building kit.
  3. Build two ocean doors and 10 seashell fencing. The fencing recipe can be purchased from the shop.
  4. Collect 50 star-spotted rocks, 30 stones, 25 seashells and 10 shiny pearls.
  5. The new Dream Island, accessed with the Starmie doll, is a useful location for gathering these materials.
  6. Deposit everything at the ocean temple building kit.
  7. Select Start building!, then wait one hour for construction to finish.

How to finish the ocean temple request

Most objectives do not need to be tackled in the listed sequence. You can collect the resources first, clear the building area later, or help Barboach before beginning Totodile’s requests.

When the construction is complete, enter the new building to meet the mythical Pokémon Manaphy. You can invite Manaphy to become a resident of Bubbly Basin, completing Build the Beautiful Building!.
