Pokémon Legends: Z-A is changing the format for its next Ranked Battle season. After Season 13 excluded Legendary and Mythical Pokémon and Season 14 required Flying-type teams, Season 15 will make Water-type Pokémon the only eligible choices.

How Ranked Battles work

Game Freak and The Pokémon Company have not confirmed whether teams will be limited to one Kyogre. Regardless, Pokémon levels will not separate competitors: every Pokémon is set to level 50 for online battles.

Ranked Battles feature four trainers competing through the game’s real-time battle system. Each player brings a team of three Pokémon and earns one point whenever an opposing Pokémon is knocked out. Mega Evolution remains a central part of the strategy.

Players who enjoy competitive gaming may also find plenty to explore in RETROCADE’s arcade video collection, while anyone planning a home setup can compare options in the Arcade Machine Buying Guide.

Season 15 rewards and dates

Season 15 will offer familiar rewards, including Fresh Water and several types of Feathers. Ranking from Rank Y through Rank S awards Greninjite, Delphoxite, Chesnaughtite, Baxcalibrite, Sceptilite, Swampertite and Blazikenite, respectively, as in Season 14.

Serebii has the complete reward breakdown.

Season 15 runs from August 6 to August 27. Water-themed Pokémon news also continues elsewhere in the franchise, with the first downloadable expansion for Pokémon Pokopia, Bubbly Basin, scheduled for release on August 5.
