DriveThruRPG, the largest retailer of digital tabletop role-playing games, is expanding its long-running relationship with Paizo. More than 1,200 official Pathfinder and Starfinder titles are coming to the platform, making Paizo’s catalogue easier to browse and download.

The service already sells PDFs for games including Daggerheart, The One Ring and the Cosmere RPG. It also hosts independent material for Pathfinder and Starfinder through the Pathfinder and Starfinder Infinite marketplaces, in a model comparable to the Dungeon Masters Guild arrangement for Dungeons & Dragons supplements.
A wider digital home for Paizo’s games

The new arrangement brings the latest official Pathfinder and Starfinder books to DriveThruRPG alongside the existing fan-created marketplace library. Paizo print titles are also scheduled to become available through the service in the coming months.

Customers will eventually be able to connect their Paizo and DriveThruRPG accounts, allowing PDFs to be accessed across both websites. For Australian players, that could provide a more convenient way to manage a large digital collection without relying on multiple storefronts.

Why the move matters to Paizo

The expanded partnership arrives after serious disruption to Paizo’s retail distribution. Its former distributor, Diamond Comics, entered bankruptcy in January 2025, leaving approximately $10 million worth of Paizo books inaccessible while they were intended for major retailers including Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Paizo’s exclusive agreement with Diamond also limited the publisher’s ability to appoint a replacement distributor while legal challenges continued. The company recorded a loss of nearly $2 million in 2025 and dismissed 12 employees in June as it worked to reduce operating costs.

Paizo has also reduced the number of free PDFs it distributes and cut back investment in organised play products and virtual tabletop support. In November, it launched a new website designed to make direct purchases of physical and digital products easier.
What players can expect
DriveThruRPG gives Paizo another sales channel at a difficult time. The initial expansion covers more than 1,200 Pathfinder and Starfinder titles, with printed books and cross-platform PDF access planned for a later stage.
“Expanding our partnership with DriveThruRPG makes it easier for more players to discover and enjoy Pathfinder and Starfinder,” Paizo CEO Jim Butler said. “We’re excited to bring decades of Paizo releases to the DriveThruRPG community, with even more options ahead.”

For tabletop fans who also enjoy dedicated gaming setups, the convenience of a central digital library has a familiar parallel in the way an arcade news and gaming collection can bring different interests together in one place.

Paizo’s recovery will depend on how quickly it can rebuild reliable retail operations after the Diamond Comics collapse. For now, the DriveThruRPG expansion makes official Pathfinder and Starfinder material more accessible while giving the publisher an important additional route to its audience.
