‘Page-Turner’ is an optional early quest in The Blood of Dawnwalker that begins during “Withering Away”. After buying herbs from Anca for Esme, choose to practise Latin with her rather than return to your family immediately. The activity uses two time slots and introduces the game’s romance choices.

This guide covers every major decision in the quest, including the book selection, Latin answers, Anca’s herbs and the flirtatious dialogue that follows.

How to start ‘Page-Turner’
Once you purchase Anca’s herbs during “Withering Away”, select the dialogue option to spend time practising Latin. Saying that you need to get back to your family takes only one time slot and skips this optional scene. Choosing the longer activity brings Coen and Anca together in her hut.
- Choose whether to read Anca’s poem or ask about the red-covered book.
- Give the two correct Latin translations.
- Collect Anca’s herbs from the nearby shed.
- Choose whether Anca should lower her shirt or remove it.
- Respond to Anca’s invitation to meet again.
Poem or red-covered book?

Selecting the poem leads to a straightforward lesson involving Latin phrases about gods and mythology. Anca is content with this choice, but it produces the less flirtatious version of the scene.

For the more romantic path, ask about the book with the red cover. Anca initially refuses because Catullus is “quite irreverent”. Continue by saying that Catullus sounds more interesting, then compare her response to that of her prioress. She eventually relents and retrieves the book.
Latin translation answers

If you selected the poem, identified as the Petronius book, choose these answers:
- Fear
- Lightning

If you chose the flirtier Catullus book, identified by its red cover, select:
- Kisses
- Grains of sand
Should you collect all of Anca’s herbs?

After the translation section, a storm begins and Anca asks you to retrieve her herbs from the shed next door. Enter the shed and look to the right. There are 11 herbs hanging from beams across the ceiling.
Anca screams while you are searching. Returning before collecting everything disappoints her, although the available playthroughs indicate that collecting only some herbs has no lasting consequence. To maximise the positive impression and support the potential romance route, collect all 11 before going back.
Should Anca lower her shirt or take it off?

Both dialogue choices lead to the same result: Anca reluctantly removes her shirt completely. Neither option changes the wider outcome of the quest.
Which final dialogue option should you choose?
At the end, you can tell Anca that you enjoy her company more than the books, or suggest doing this again another time. Either response has Anca agree that she would like to see Coen again.
The first answer is the more openly romantic choice, so select it if you want the strongest flirtatious tone for Coen’s journey.
What happens after ‘Page-Turner’?
The Blood of Dawnwalker is a time-sensitive narrative RPG in which decisions matter. The quest takes place during the prologue, before you gain the freedom to explore Vale Sangora and deal with Brencis’ boyars after the prologue concludes.
