Nintendo’s latest look at The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on Switch 2 remains closely aligned with the Nintendo 64 original. The trailer revisits familiar locations in upgraded form and shows several of the bosses Link will face in the remake.
Alongside those returning scenes, the footage introduces a new feature: the Hall of Fallen Foes.
A museum of defeated enemies
The Hall of Fallen Foes appears to be a dedicated museum where Link can view statues representing enemies defeated during the adventure. Examining one provides information about that creature, potentially adding context about its behaviour and role in the game’s world.
The displays also identify where the enemies can be encountered again, making the room a useful reference for players who want to track down particular foes after first defeating them.
Boss rematches with time records
The most substantial addition is that every boss monster will also be represented in the hall. Interacting with a boss statue lets Link replay that battle, giving players an opportunity to revisit the encounters whenever they choose.
The remake will record each player’s best time, turning the boss rematches into a repeatable challenge for anyone trying to improve their personal records. It adds a competitive edge to a game otherwise focused on faithfully recreating a classic adventure.

Release date and Zelda’s 40th anniversary
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is scheduled to launch on Switch 2 on November 5. It is positioned as the major release celebrating the series’ 40th anniversary.
The franchise will also expand into live action next year. Nintendo and Sony are producing a film starring Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link and Bo Bragason as Zelda. A full trailer for the movie has not yet been released.
