Inde Navarrette is open to returning as Nikki if Obsession continues, even as her career moves towards major new projects. The horror film became a box-office phenomenon, and Navarrette is now set to play Rogue in Marvel’s upcoming X-Men reboot while also starring in Apple’s science-fiction thriller The Waffle House Index.
In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor discussed her rapid rise, her upcoming roles and what Nikki might face after the film’s ending.
“I would totally be open to doing a sequel. Are you kidding me? Who am I to say no?” Navarrette said.

What might an Obsession sequel explore?
Navarrette does not see Nikki immediately returning to another supernatural nightmare. Her first priority would be dealing with the psychological damage caused by what happened to her.
“The non-pretty answer,” Navarrette explained, is that Nikki would be beginning a grieving process. That response reflects the film’s central violation: Nikki lost control of her own feelings and actions through an experience she never chose.
In the story, Nikki’s friend Bear, played by Michael Johnston, uses a mysterious novelty item called the One Wish Willow to make her love him more than anything else. The wish produces increasingly horrific consequences, leaving Nikki to reckon with the loss of her autonomy.
A sequel or an anthology?
Navarrette’s comments come as writer-director Curry Barker has also shown interest in returning to the film’s unusual mythology. In May, Barker said he was weighing either Obsession 2 or an anthology series.
An anthology could examine different wishes gone wrong, with other filmmakers bringing their own interpretations to the concept. It would also allow the One Wish Willow’s mythology to expand without requiring a direct continuation of Nikki’s story.
For now, a conventional sequel remains only a possibility. However, Barker’s interest and Navarrette’s clear willingness to return give fans two credible paths for the horror property: Nikki’s recovery in a direct follow-up, or a wider collection of cursed wishes.
