Golden Tee 2026 launches for arcades

Incredible Technologies has released Golden Tee PGA Tour 2026 for arcades and bars. The new version became available on 29 September, continuing the September launch pattern that returned last year after the series’ schedule was disrupted in 2020.

The most notable change is the move towards more frequent content and course releases rather than waiting for a single annual update. That approach may help operators maintain player interest and revenue throughout the year.

Home users should note that this is the final update planned for the Legacy/LIVE Home Edition cabinets. This update being the last for the Legacy/LIVE Home Edition cabinets makes the decision significant for a product line that has benefited substantially from home sales. It may reduce future home-cabinet demand while encouraging more players to visit commercial locations.

Genda establishes Genda Americas

Genda is bringing several of its North American businesses together under a new subsidiary called Genda Americas, which is scheduled to open in 2026.

The move follows Genda’s acquisitions of NEN, Player One Amusement Group and Barberio. The company has built a substantial network outside Japan and is now consolidating those operations under one umbrella for the first time.

Genda’s published structure separates the United States and Canada while bringing the acquired companies closer together operationally. The broader “Americas” name may leave room for future expansion beyond North America, although no South American purchases have been confirmed.

The wider arcade sector remains under pressure. Persistent inflation has reduced discretionary spending, retail visitation has been inconsistent and operators continue to report that trading patterns have not fully stabilised five years after the lockdown period. Industry sentiment was reportedly subdued at IAAPA Expo Europe, with similar concerns carrying into the main IAAPA event.

Genda’s consolidation could lead to further acquisitions involving operators, distributors, manufacturers or developers, but its longer-term plans remain to be seen. Smaller independent venues still need affordable games across a broad range of genres, rather than a market dominated by large family-entertainment and redemption chains.

Rhythm games receive their next updates

maimai Deluxe Circle

Sega’s Japanese release of maimai Deluxe Circle arrived on 18 September. Alongside the expected music additions, the update introduces a “circle” feature that lets players with registered online accounts form groups and teams.

The United States is receiving the International edition of maimai, which trails the Japanese version by some instalments. As a result, American players will have to wait longer for Circle, although the update is expected to arrive sometime next year.

Beatmania IIDX 33: Sparkle Shower

Konami has launched the 33rd edition of Beatmania IIDX, titled Sparkle Shower. Following its earlier location test, the full release is now available on US cabinets at Round1USA and is expected to ship with machines ordered by independent arcades early next year.

Konami’s arcade division has completed its transition to the name Konami Arcade Games. The fifth season of the Bemani Pro League is scheduled to begin next March, while the company’s November Amusement Expo lineup includes the new Pop’n Music cabinet, Gashaaaan!, and Super Punch Mania.

Blazing Strike AC begins testing

exA-Arcadia has started testing Blazing Strike AC at Taito HEY in Akihabara, Tokyo, and Game Center Kohatsu in Osaka. Testing is scheduled to continue until 7 October.

The arcade release was announced at EVO Japan earlier this year and is based on a Steam title that received mixed reviews. exA-Arcadia says it has rewritten substantial parts of the game, with rebalanced gameplay, reduced input lag, a training mode and fixes for rendering issues among the improvements.

The finished arcade version is expected to launch by the end of the year. A 12-hour livestream from the test provides an extended look at how the revised fighter plays.

exA-Arcadia has also teased another major fighting-game announcement featuring a recognisable licence.

Sega Amusements appoints new leadership

Following Paul Williams’ announced retirement as CEO and chairman, Sega Amusements has confirmed its new senior management structure. Siraj Elkhawad, previously finance director since 2022, becomes CEO.

Long-serving Sega executives Justin Burke and Nigel Allison have also received new roles. Burke is now chief operating officer, while Allison becomes R&D director.

The appointments come as the international amusement sector continues to adjust to changing venue economics and operator demand.

October events on the arcade and pinball calendar

Three relevant events are taking place around the same period in October: TAAPE in Thailand, Pinball Expo 2025 in Chicago and Portland Retro Game Expo in Portland.

TAAPE serves as Thailand’s major amusement exhibition.
Pinball Expo focuses on the pinball industry.
Portland Retro Game Expo has a broader retro-gaming focus, with some arcade content.

The Texas Pinball Festival has moved to a March schedule around Amusement Expo International. Alan-1 and GenXGrownUp are also due to reveal the next Atari Recharged arcade title at Pinball Expo and Portland Retro Game Expo. The game is based on a remake of a vector-era title.

Pinball Expo is expected to produce the most new industry announcements. American Pinball had indicated that it might reveal its next game there, although the title had not been finally confirmed. It was not Cuphead, despite speculation.

Stern and Jersey Jack were expected to show their latest titles, Star Wars #3 and Harry Potter, respectively. The event’s boutique and homebrew lineup includes Big Trouble In Little China and P3 Multimorphic’s Portal, which is already in production.

Spooky Pinball was not expected to bring a completely new game, while Pedretti’s Big Bang Bar was also not scheduled to appear. The author of the source roundup planned to attend Portland Retro Game Expo rather than Pinball Expo because the events overlap.

The UK’s Autumn Coin-Op Show is another event on the calendar. A Philippines amusement show was also reported for 23–25 October, although its website was unavailable at the time.
