1. Moana
Available on: Disney Plus
Genre: Adventure
Run time: 1h 55m
Director: Thomas Kail
Cast: Dwayne Johnson, Catherine Laga’aia, Jemaine Clement

Disney’s live-action Moana is now available to stream. The film follows the familiar animated story with real performers and photorealistic effects, closely reproducing the 2016 original’s scenes, dialogue and songs. Reviews were poor, renewing debate about Disney’s continuing programme of live-action remakes. Their commercial appeal remains clear, but this version has been criticised as a glossy digital replica rather than a substantial reinterpretation.
2. The Invite
Available on: HBO Max
Genre: Comedy
Run time: 1h 47m
Director: Olivia Wilde
Cast: Olivia Wilde, Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz
Joe and Angela, played by Seth Rogen and Olivia Wilde, live in San Francisco and have reached a difficult point in their marriage. Their child is the main thing they still share. On impulse, Angela invites their attractive upstairs neighbours, played by Penélope Cruz and Edward Norton, to a double date. The evening quickly turns into a confrontation that could permanently damage both relationships.

4. Love Language

Director: Joey Power
Cast: Chloë Grace Moretz, Anthony Ramos, Manny Jacinto

Lou is a ghostwriter who creates wedding vows for other people while navigating romantic complications of her own. When a charming man begins pursuing her, she also accepts a writing job from a wealthy businesswoman. The assignment becomes awkward when Lou discovers that her former university best friend and long-time crush is the woman’s groom.
5. Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom
Available on: VOD
Genre: Animation
Run time: 1h 20m
Directors: Matthew Walker, Steve Cox
Cast: Justin Fletcher, John Sparkes, Kate Harbour

First introduced in the 1995 short Wallace & Gromit: A Close Shave, Shaun the Sheep returns in another dialogue-free stop-motion adventure. Shaun turns to science to repair a damaged pumpkin patch, but a potion is accidentally consumed by the Farmer, transforming him into a Bigfoot-like creature. The film draws on classic horror ideas, including Frankenstein and Wolf Man, while retaining the series’ family-friendly comedy.
Aardman’s latest Shaun the Sheep feature is a fast-moving, family-oriented adventure without spoken dialogue. That absence of dialogue is also one of the major creative challenges involved in expanding the television character into a feature-length film.
