Marvel has confirmed the principal cast for its upcoming MCU X-Men reboot, following years of speculation, legal complications and multiverse storylines. The announcement was made during Disney’s D23 presentation.
The confirmed MCU X-Men cast
Sadie Sink will play Jean Grey, reprising the role after the character’s introduction in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Kit Connor has been confirmed as Cyclops, while Samara Weaving will portray Emma Frost.
The rest of the announced team includes Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm and Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier. Adam Driver is also joining the film as Nathaniel Milbury, a character identified in the announcement as Mr. Sinister.

Wolverine and Magneto remain unconfirmed
The initial line-up leaves several major X-Men characters out. Marvel has not announced actors for Wolverine, Magneto or the members of the Brotherhood of Mutants.
That absence could indicate that the reboot will take a different approach to the familiar ideological conflict between Professor X and Magneto. Marvel may also be taking its time before introducing a new Wolverine after Hugh Jackman played Logan for more than 20 years.
Release date and director
The new X-Men film is scheduled to reach cinemas on 5 May 2028. Jake Schreier, director of Thunderbolts*, is attached to direct.
