Three physical releases arrive across November and December

Amazon MGM Studios and Alliance Home Entertainment have announced separate DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD editions for both season 1 and season 2. Each release will include behind-the-scenes bonus material.

Collectors will also have access to Amazon-exclusive 4K Ultra HD gift sets in December. These editions include Steelbook packaging and collectible art cards, offering a more premium alternative to the standard disc releases.

The standard physical editions are scheduled for 3 November, while the Amazon 4K Steelbook sets are due on 1 December. Season 3 will follow on Prime Video on 11 November, with its remaining episodes released through 25 November.

What to expect from season 3

The Rings of Power premiered on Prime Video in September 2022, with season 2 arriving in August 2024. The series has since attracted more than 185 million viewers worldwide, making it one of the streaming service’s biggest shows.

The third season will move Middle-earth further into its conflict with Sauron. The Dark Lord is expected to recruit the men who will eventually become the Nazgûl, although he has not yet forged the One Ring.

The season will also explore the history of Elrond and his long-lost twin, Elros. Robert Aramayo will play both brothers in a flashback depicting their different choices: Elrond embraces immortality, while Elros accepts mortality and becomes the founder of Númenor.

Elrond’s connection to that decision will become more personal when he visits Númenor in the present day and encounters the kingdom his brother built during his mortal life. Season 3 will also introduce Rivendell to the series, adding another significant Tolkien location to its version of Middle-earth.
