New Arcades May 2026: Global Location Watch

Welcome to RETROCADE’s May 2026 round-up of recently opened and reopened arcades worldwide. This edition covers free-play retro venues, arcade bars, pinball-focused locations, family entertainment centres and major developments across North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Australia.

The listings below draw on operator updates, reader tips and industry coverage from RePlay Magazine, InterGame Online and Amusement & Attractions. Opening hours can vary, so check each venue before travelling. Several locations featured this month are not open every day.

North America

Extraordinaire Arcade — San Bernardino, California

Extraordinaire Arcade is a free-play venue with approximately 100 arcade machines, a console gaming area and a selection that combines established classics with games released during roughly the past decade. Guitar Hero Arcade is one notable draw, particularly as suitable machines can be difficult to find at a reasonable price. The venue also offers party rooms and light food and drinks, but is listed as closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Visit the official website for details.

Launchpad Arcade — Pocomoke City, Maryland

Launchpad Arcade is a smaller, space-themed retro venue operating on Fridays and Saturdays. Its line-up includes classic video games, newer pinball machines and several redemption games. The Atari Night Driver cabinet is an especially unusual inclusion. Games use quarters, preserving a traditional pay-per-play format. Find the venue through its website and Facebook page.

Troy Rewind — Troy, New York

Troy Rewind brings the arcade-bar format to New York, with games concentrated on 1980s and 1990s releases. Its console section appears to emphasise fighting games, while the arcade floor also includes newer rhythm imports such as Wacca. Further venue coverage is available from Amusement & Attractions.

RWND Restaurant & Arcade — Wareham, Massachusetts

RWND combines a restaurant and arcade with a pronounced TRON-inspired interior. The venue has two bars and around 40 games, with a free-play arcade area alongside its food and beverage offering. Its website places considerable emphasis on the restaurant, and the venue does not operate every day of the week. Visit the venue website.

The Pinball Capital — Stone Park, Illinois

The Pinball Capital leans heavily into Chicago’s long-standing pinball identity and describes itself as Illinois’ largest pinball-centric arcade. Video games are also present, but the main attraction is the pinball collection, which spans newer machines such as a Pokémon LE and classic Gottlieb wedgehead cabinets. The venue’s Instagram page provides additional updates.

Life Bar Arcade — Schaumburg, Illinois

Life Bar Arcade combines arcade games with live music and a bar setting. Its video selection reaches from the 1980s to more recent releases, while the pinball line-up includes mostly newer Stern machines alongside titles such as Baby Pac-Man. One particularly uncommon video game is Square Enix’s Theatrhythm Final Fantasy All-Star Carnival. The venue is open for most of the week, with Mondays and Tuesdays reserved for private events. Summit Arcade PNW at The Capitol — Bend, Oregon

Arcade games have returned to The Capitol, a Bend restaurant, bar and live-music venue, with equipment supplied by Summit Arcade. The modern selection includes Retro Raccoons, while footage from the venue shows a substantial pinball presence, including recent Stern and Jersey Jack titles. Family entertainment centre openings and updates

Dave & Buster’s opens in King of Prussia, with MaiMai DX and Phantom Vanguard among the noteworthy machines shown.
Main Event’s new Deer Park, New York venue receives a tour.
Jester FEC launches Maui’s Indoor Theme Park in Owensboro, Kentucky.
Cahoots arrives in Rockford, Illinois, inside a former Coca-Cola bottling plant.
The Rush Funplex opens venues in Hurricane and Logan, Utah.
MGM Grand debuts Bonus Round arcade bar in Las Vegas.
Thrillz Atlanta is scheduled to open in June; it is primarily an indoor adventure park rather than a conventional FEC arcade.
Fun Factory opens in Pearl City, Hawaii.

Europe

Boneyard Arcade — Exeter, England

Boneyard Arcade has returned in a larger Exeter venue after closing its original location in 2024. The move was completed early last month, bringing additional machines, a stronger imported-cabinet selection and a row of distinctive Sega racers. The former venue had only one imported rhythm title, MaiMai Finale; the expanded site has reportedly enjoyed a strong first couple of months. LuxPlay — Boscombe, England

LuxPlay is planned as a combination of indoor children’s play centre and an arcade with more than 40 games. The advertised line-up includes Sega Rally 2 and Ford Racing Full Blown. However, local reporting indicates that the soft-play section had not opened at the time covered, leaving some customers disappointed. The venue’s updates are available via its Facebook page.

Pathé Games — Namur, Belgium

Pathé Games operates inside a Pathé cinema location in Namur. The attraction appears to focus more on prize redemption than traditional video games, although four racing attractions have been identified: MotoGP VR, Spin City, Monster Kart and Monster Jet Riders. The line-up therefore has a clear emphasis on UNIS titles. Details were reported by Arcade Belgium.

Arcade Nation — Namur, Belgium

Arcade Nation opened in April, bringing a 30-game venue to an area that had been short of arcade entertainment. Redemption games form a substantial part of the mix, supported by titles including Storm Racer G, Minecraft Dungeons Arcade and StepManiaX. The pinball selection includes Pokémon with the trading-card modification used by some operators. More information is available from Arcade Belgium.

Hart’s Amusements reopens in Bispham, near Blackpool.
Tenpin announces a new Wakefield venue.
Games Factory opens its 15th French FEC in Reims.
Twister Arcade opens its first German location.
Gamestate De Kuip in Rotterdam receives an upgrade.

Asia, the Middle East and Oceania

Silk Hat — Kamata, Japan

Japan’s Silk Hat chain has opened a substantial new Tokyo-area centre in Kamata, around six months after its high-profile move into a former Sega/GiGO site in Akihabara. The Kamata district is also close to Sega’s former Japanese headquarters, which moved to Shinagawa in the late 2010s. The five-floor venue includes crane and medal games, while Silk Hat’s participation in the Bemani Pro League is reflected in its rhythm-game offering: multiple Beatmania IIDX and Sound Voltex cabinets, DanceDanceRevolution and Sega rhythm titles. Timeline Arcade is preparing a pirate-themed Gettysburg, Pennsylvania location for summer.
Mega City is scheduled to open in Slough, England, next month.
Lane7 is coming to Trinity Leeds with bowling and arcade games on 2 June.
Gravity MAX is planned for Cardiff, Wales, with karting and arcade attractions.
