Where to Find Kinkaku-ji Temple in Forza Horizon 6

Kinkaku-ji Temple is one of Forza Horizon 6’s landmark photography spots. The gold-covered building is easy to recognise, but its isolated position makes it one of the more difficult locations to reach.

The temple can also feature in Festival Playlist photography tasks, including the #TakingYourTime challenge from the spring season of the Horizon Meets series. If you are working through the playlist, use the directions below to find it quickly.

Kinkaku-ji Temple location in Forza Horizon 6

The in-game temple sits beside a small lake just south of the centre of the Ohtani region. To reach it, take the off-road trail on Ohtani’s southern side and drive north-west. The lake is at the trail’s north-westernmost point, with Kinkaku-ji Temple beside it.

• Travel to the southern side of Ohtani.
• Follow the off-road trail north-west.
• Continue to the lake at the trail’s far north-western end.
• Look beside the water for the gold-leaf-covered temple.

The setting mirrors the real Kinkaku-ji Temple in Kyoto, Japan, which is also covered in gold leaf. That makes the lakeside landmark a particularly useful backdrop for photo challenges.

How to complete the #TakingYourTime photo challenge

For #TakingYourTime, frame a 1989 Nissan S-Cargo with Kinkaku-ji Temple visible behind it. The S-Cargo can be bought from the Autoshow for 19,000 credits.

Completing the challenge awards the “So Cute” emote and two season points. Once you have the car, drive it to the lake, position the temple in the background and take the required photograph.
