Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently announced for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, with its console launch scheduled for 19 November. Players waiting for a computer version may not face the lengthy delay seen with earlier Rockstar releases.

A report from Games Beat says Rockstar is targeting a PC release during the first quarter of 2027. Four sources described as being familiar with the studio’s plans reportedly place the launch between January and March next year.

How the reported timing compares

If accurate, the window would represent a considerably shorter wait than PC players experienced with Grand Theft Auto V. That game debuted on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September 2013, before reaching PC in April 2015—almost two years later.

Red Dead Redemption 2 followed a faster path, but its PC edition still arrived in 2019, roughly a year after the game launched on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Why a PC edition matters

Rockstar’s PC releases often become the preferred versions for players who value technical flexibility and community-made content. Grand Theft Auto 6 could be particularly well suited to mods and other user-created additions, potentially extending its active community for years.

Rockstar has not confirmed the reported PC schedule. The company may also prefer to keep attention and sales focused on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions ahead of their November release. Even without a confirmed PC date, the game is expected to attract enormous interest across both console and computer platforms.
