Grand Theft Auto 6 is approaching its November 19 release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and Rockstar’s promotional campaign is expanding worldwide. Alongside a new trailer, cover stories and merchandise, large-scale murals and banners are appearing in major cities.
One of the most noticeable advertisements is being installed on the Les Mercuriales towers in Paris. Over the past two weeks, people online have been documenting progress on a massive banner advertisement recreating the game’s cover art across the side of one tower.
Work on the Paris display was reported complete on Thursday. Fans then noticed that the local version of the artwork differs slightly from the official cover: two firearms have been removed.

In the upper-middle image showing Lucia and Jason, Lucia’s gun is absent, along with the hand holding it. In the lower-middle image, an assault rifle has also been removed. The character’s raised hand remains, but there is no weapon positioned in front of it.
The change appears to be specific to the Paris installation. Other promotional murals in the United States, including one in New York City, have artwork featuring guns.
A comparison shared by u/GameDrain shows how closely another GTA 6 mural sits against the New York skyline. Readers can follow the discussion in the GTA6 community.
The reason for the Paris edits has not been confirmed. The building’s owners may have objected to displaying large firearms, or local advertising rules may have influenced the final design. Either way, the contrast between the Paris banner and other versions has made the campaign detail worth noticing as the launch approaches.
