Incredible Technologies has released Golden Tee PGA Tour 2025, the latest annual entry in one of the arcade industry’s most enduring commercial golf series. The digital update is now available for existing Golden Tee machines, following its initial release to commercial venues.

What’s new in Golden Tee PGA Tour 2025?

The new edition focuses on fresh courses, additional competitive options and more ways to personalise a player. The main additions listed on the official Golden Tee PGA Tour game page include:

  • Five new Golden Tee courses.
  • Two additional real PGA TOUR courses.
  • Three Classic Golden Tee courses with revised tee placements.
  • Three new seasons featuring fresh content, tees and pins.
  • Nationwide Score IT contests.
  • A new GT Tour mode offering substantial cash prizes.
  • The return of Closest to the Pin.
  • Expanded player customisation.

Commercial machines and home editions

The version released immediately is the downloadable digital update for existing Golden Tee machines. New buyers can order a standard model, which consists of the pedestal without the stand, panels, television or marquee, or a Deluxe model supplied with those components. The Deluxe package does not include the 4K television shown in the presentation.

New machines were expected to carry the 2025 software by the time they reached customers. Home users, however, had to wait while commercial locations received access first. The release timing reflected the manufacturer’s priority for operators and venues.

There did not appear to be any cabinet artwork changes, so owners had no apparent reason to purchase a physical update kit. Anyone comparing formats can also consult RETROCADE’s arcade machine buying guide before choosing a cabinet.

Why the annual update matters

Golden Tee PGA Tour 2025 does not present a radical change to the established formula. For a yearly arcade update, though, a collection of new courses, competitions and customisation options can be enough to keep regular players engaged.

Golden Tee occupies an unusual position in the arcade market. Its releases remain among the most widely played commercial arcade games, while the series is often treated as a category apart from mainstream video arcade titles. Regardless of how it is classified, its long-running presence in bars and other venues makes it an important part of the industry.

Big Buck Hunter has a similarly strong commercial identity, although it can appear in more locations than Golden Tee. Commercial placement has also traditionally followed an operator-led model: venues such as bars may need to work with an authorised operator rather than simply purchasing a machine directly. The arrangement is comparable to the way many dartboard installations are managed, while home editions follow a different sales path.

Golden Tee’s relative affordability and large installed base mean that the 2025 upgrade can reach thousands of locations. That kind of sustained audience is the benchmark many manufacturers would like to achieve when searching for the next major arcade hit.

Would Golden Tee PGA Tour 2025 add something worthwhile to a bar, arcade or home collection in Australia?
