Godzilla Kaiju Wars VR May Be Heading for New Chapters

Raw Thrills has not confirmed any new content for Godzilla Kaiju Wars VR, but a recent update to the game’s official page has revealed strong clues about what may be next for the arcade-exclusive title.

What is Godzilla Kaiju Wars VR?

Developed by Raw Thrills, Godzilla Kaiju Wars VR launched earlier in 2024 after its first public showing at IAAPA 2023. The game initially arrived with two chapters, or levels, while operator buyers were promised three additional chapters at no extra cost.

Three possible chapters revealed

New screenshots added to the official game page appear to show scenes and enemies that are not part of the two chapters currently available. The images point towards three more scenarios:

• Gigan Attack, featuring the kaiju Gigan and what may be alien spacecraft.
• River Assault, which appears to include Manda.
• Tokyo Onslaught, featuring a previously unpromoted kaiju.

That previously unseen monster appears to be Mechagodzilla, based on the newly published screenshots.

Could IAAPA 2024 bring the update?

There is still no confirmed release date for the remaining chapters. IAAPA 2024 is therefore a reasonable possibility for their debut, although it remains unclear whether the event would showcase Chapter 3 alone or all three planned additions.

The Big Buck Hunter World Championships are also scheduled to begin that weekend. Raw Thrills frequently has new games present at the event, so a Godzilla Kaiju Wars VR machine may be available there. Whether it will include any of the new chapters is not known.
