Mega Man is coming to Fortnite in Chapter 7 Season 4, with a special tournament giving players the opportunity to unlock crossover cosmetics before they reach the Item Shop.

Known as Fortnite Override, the current season blends retro gaming themes with hacking. Mega Man was teased after the Unstable Event at the Zero Point, when a Mega Man cartridge appeared in the override console. More than two weeks into the season, however, the character had not yet arrived in-game.
That wait is nearly over. The Mega Man Cup is scheduled for Tuesday, 8 September, with Epic Games revealing the event and its related cosmetics. The complete tournament rules have not been published yet.
How to earn Mega Man rewards in Fortnite
The tournament will give players a chance to collect Mega Man items before the collaboration moves to the Item Shop. Reports suggest the competition will use duos across Battle Royale, Zero Build and mobile servers, although those details remain unconfirmed until the official rules are available.
Players who achieve the highest ratings in their region are expected to receive Mega Man for free. Promotional material also points to the standard Mega Man outfit and an alternative style based on Mega Man X.
- Mega Man outfit: place among the top-rated competitors in your region.
- Mega Man emoticon: earn eight points through eliminations and survival time.
- Override Buster Blast spray: score 25 eliminations with the Mega Buster, or five eliminations on mobile.
Cosmetics distributed through tournament cups often appear in the Item Shop soon afterwards. If that timing applies to this event, Mega Man could become available on Wednesday or Thursday, although Epic Games has not confirmed those dates.

Zero is also joining the crossover
Mega Man will not be the only character from the series appearing in Fortnite. A video teaser confirms that Zero, who originated in Mega Man X, will also be added as a Fortnite outfit.
The collaboration continues Fortnite Override’s focus on retro game references. That same interest in classic hardware can be explored through RETROCADE’s arcade machine collection, including cabinets designed for home gaming spaces.
Players in Australia should note the tournament date of Tuesday, 8 September. The announcement did not provide an Australian start time or final eligibility requirements, so check the in-game competition information before entering.
