Fortnite players have a new way to unlock a skin based on Dylan Faden, the lead character in Remedy Entertainment’s upcoming action game Control Resonant.
How to get the Dylan Faden skin
Players who purchase Control Resonant through the Epic Games Store will receive the Dylan Faden outfit as a gift with purchase. The reward becomes available in Fortnite from 12:00 am EST on 26 August 2026.
You can read the official purchase details for the Dylan Faden skin. The promotion is not limited to launch day: the offer will remain available indefinitely, so a future purchase through the Epic Games Store can still qualify.

Shop availability and V-Bucks cost
The outfit will also be sold separately in the Fortnite Item Shop. Epic Games has not confirmed when that listing will appear, although it is expected to arrive around the game’s launch.
The Dylan Faden skin will cost 1,500 V-Bucks. Anyone who buys it from the Item Shop and later qualifies for the gift-with-purchase promotion will receive a one-time refund of 1,500 V-Bucks.
- Buying Control Resonant later can still qualify for the promotion.
- The Item Shop purchase is priced at 1,500 V-Bucks.
- Refunds apply once when an eligible player has already bought the skin.
- Refunding the game removes the skin, or the equivalent 1,500 V-Bucks, from the player’s Fortnite locker.

What is Control Resonant?
The original Control launched in 2019. More than seven years later, its sequel is scheduled to launch on 24 September 2026, continuing the strange supernatural action-RPG world created by Remedy.
This time, players control Dylan Faden, the brother of Jesse Faden. Dylan uses the Aberrant, a powerful weapon capable of changing shape. Learning how to use each of its forms is central to combat and survival.

Early hands-on impressions suggest that Control Resonant expands the series without losing the identity of the original. The sequel combines more overt action-RPG elements with the unsettling atmosphere associated with Control, while shifting part of the adventure to the mysterious streets of Manhattan.

A Fortnite crossover ahead of launch
The promotion gives players a themed Fortnite cosmetic before Control Resonant arrives. It also provides a reason for curious players to revisit the 2019 original before the sequel’s September launch.
