Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave DLC weapons are powerful rewards tied to a short subquest chain. The expansion pass adds four Prototype weapons, one for each playable Flame Lord, although collecting them can require some extra timeline management.

These weapons are included in Wave 1 of the Fortune’s Weave expansion pass. They offer strong combat potential, but their lower durability means you will need to repair them more often than standard weapons.

How to unlock the Fortune’s Weave DLC weapons

First, purchase and download the Fortune’s Weave expansion pass. The game then displays an announcement about the new weapons and points to a subquest, but it does not clearly explain where or when that quest becomes available.
Each Flame Lord has a separate weapon quest. The quests open once you gain access to the bulletin board in Dagsion, which happens around Chapter 4. The precise timing varies by character. Dietrich must complete the city tutorials and several battles before the board becomes available, while Cai reaches it more quickly because much of that progress takes place during Chapter 3.
When the bulletin board is ready, a parchment icon appears on the map. The marker turns gold-orange whenever a new quest is waiting.

Where to find the weapon quest giver
Accept the relevant quest from the Dagsion bulletin board, then travel to the city’s “streets” area. The mysterious quest giver stands just north-east of the market stalls, close to the location associated with the beast in the “Monster in the Night” quest.
Speak to him to receive the matching Prototype weapon. Repeat the process for each of the four Flame Lords if you want the complete set.

Complete Prototype weapon list
- Prototype I: Sword for Dietrich
- Prototype V: Axe for Leda
- Prototype XI: Bow for Theodora
- Prototype VII: Spear for Cai
Although each weapon is presented as belonging to a particular Flame Lord, any character can equip and use them.

Are the DLC weapons worth using?
The Prototype weapons take visual and thematic inspiration from the Hero’s Relics in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Their main drawback is reduced durability compared with other weapons, so combat arts can be used fewer times before the weapon breaks and needs a blacksmith repair.
That weakness is offset by their upgrade path. All four weapons can reach +2, improving both durability and strength. A fully upgraded Prototype weapon is more powerful than an iron weapon upgraded to the same level.

Getting a weapon after completing Part 1
If you have already finished a Flame Lord’s Part 1, replay that character’s Chapter 12 to claim the Prototype weapon. As with other Part 1 changes, the result will not carry into Parts 2 and 3 until you complete the final chapter of Part 1.
For a completed Part 1, replaying Chapter 12, finishing the chapter and then continuing your existing campaign is the quickest way to secure the weapon without restarting the wider story.

Other Fortune’s Weave progression tips
Fortune’s Weave has several branching paths and progression systems. New players may also want to consider which character to choose first, how to change heroes, and whether Casual or Classic mode better suits their preferred campaign style.
It is also a substantial game, so completion time can vary. During the early Heroic Games matches, prioritise recruiting more characters and unlocking Boons of Salvation. Use free time carefully, remember to visit the Perch, and make room for a quick Bird Time session.
