Nintendo has confirmed a dedicated Nintendo Direct for Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, its upcoming tactical role-playing game for Nintendo Switch 2. The presentation is scheduled for Tuesday, 4 August, and will run for approximately 20 minutes.
The livestream begins at 7 a.m. PDT / 10 a.m. EDT on Nintendo’s YouTube channel. For Australian viewers, the showcase will take place later that day, although the supplied schedule does not specify an Australian broadcast time.

What to expect from the Fire Emblem Direct
Nintendo has not detailed the exact content of the presentation, but the showcase is expected to provide a closer look at Fortune’s Weave. The game was announced in September as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive and is the newest instalment in the 36-year-old Fire Emblem series.
The story centres on four new heroes whose ambitions bring them together:
- Cai is a young man determined to rescue his imprisoned father.
- Dietrich is a swordsman constantly searching for a more powerful opponent.
- Theodora is a queen pursuing her homeland’s long-standing dream.
- Leda is a musician seeking revenge.

A tournament at the heart of the adventure
Each protagonist has an individual goal and storyline. Their journeys intersect through the Dagsion Heroic Games, a colosseum-style contest where warriors face one another for the chance to have a wish granted by the Divine Sovereign, the godlike figure presiding over the event.
There is more to the game than the battles themselves. Between matches, players can explore Dagsion’s capital, practise techniques at training grounds, build relationships that may unlock new allies and venture beyond the city to earn further experience.

The setting and story details suggest that Fortune’s Weave may serve as a prequel to 2019’s Fire Emblem: Three Houses. A related story also points to Dagda, a familiar location associated with several Three Houses characters.
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave release date
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is scheduled to launch exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 on 17 September.
