How to Open the Sealed Stone in Final Fantasy Resonance

The sealed stone in Final Fantasy Resonance can appear early if you explore beyond the main route, but opening it is a later-game task. The reward is valuable: Titan, a powerful Esper. However, breaking the seal begins a demanding battle, so preparation matters.
This guide covers the stone’s location, how to obtain the Gaia Hammer, and the party setup that can make the encounter more manageable.
Where to find the sealed stone

The sealed stone is located in the north-central desert of Grandshelt. Look southeast of the Cavern of Swords and northwest of Kol.
The game provides a couple of optional clues. An NPC in Kol with an exclamation mark mentions the stone, while a Zoldaad news bulletin also refers to it. Neither hint is required, so players concentrating on the main story can easily miss the area.
You cannot open the stone immediately. The required item is the Gaia Hammer, and there is only one way to obtain it.
How to get the Gaia Hammer

Complete the Fledgling-rank gladiator trials in Grandshelt. These trials become available once restoration work in Grandshelt has advanced and you have started Chapter 4.
It is technically possible to finish the entire Fledgling set before completing the main story quests in Zoldaad. The final two fights are difficult, though, unless your party is around level 30.
If you are still building your party, the arcade machine buying guide is a useful change of pace between longer RPG sessions, while the arcade blog covers more gaming and arcade news.
Recommended preparation for the fights
Bring a broad elemental selection, including fire, water, ice and light. Mist restorative items are also worth carrying.
Useful Vision choices include Noctis, Tronn, Squall and Cecil. Squall is particularly helpful for Jake because Jake fills the party’s Commando role and has higher strength. Since the enemies have no dark resistance, Shantotto is another strong option. None of the opponents count as bosses, allowing Shantotto’s Salvation Scythe to apply debuffs.
Fina can provide additional support with Light Veil, which is especially useful during the final fight because the dinosaur can inflict five stacks of poison with each hit. Light Veil does not stop Ahriman’s Doom spell, but it helps reduce the poison pressure.
If the encounters are proving too difficult, lower the game’s difficulty setting before attempting them. You can raise it again after acquiring the Gaia Hammer.
Opening the stone and fighting Titan

Take the Gaia Hammer back to the sealed stone in the Grandshelt desert and interact with it to release Titan.
Check your party, Visions and equipment before breaking the seal. The battle starts immediately, and there is no opportunity to change your setup afterwards.
Titan is weak to wind and resistant to earth, so build your attack plan around wind damage and avoid relying on earth-based abilities. Once the fight is complete, the sealed stone’s reward is yours.
