All Party Members in Final Fantasy Resonance: Unlock Guide

Final Fantasy Resonance gradually expands its playable roster as the story progresses. You can take up to four characters into battle, but recruiting every available ally gives you more options for building a balanced team.

This guide lists all eight party members, the chapter where each one joins, their assigned role and the strengths they bring to combat. It contains light story spoilers.

How party members unlock

There are eight recruitable characters in Final Fantasy Resonance. Each becomes available by completing the part of the main campaign where you meet them. Recruitment is therefore tied to story progression rather than optional exploration, so advancing through the chapters is the only way to fill out the roster.

Every character has a defined role and a stat profile that favours particular jobs. Vision and mastery bonus skills can help refine a character’s build, but changing their intended role is difficult because their statistics develop in a predetermined way. Sakura, for example, has her highest attribute in magic attack, making her a natural caster.

Characters outside the active combat party are not left behind. All party members receive experience points and mastery points after battles, allowing the wider roster to keep developing.

Sakura

  • Joins: Chapter 5, “Scars of Time”
  • Role: Commando
  • Strengths: Sakura focuses on offence rather than party support. Her ability to strengthen her spells makes her elemental magic particularly damaging.

Building a balanced team

Because battles allow only four active characters, the full roster gives you flexibility rather than a requirement to use everyone at once. A Sentinel such as Rain can absorb pressure, while a Medic such as Fina keeps the group alive. Breakers and Commandos add stagger and physical damage, whereas Nichol, Archwitch Fina and Sakura offer buffs, debuffs or powerful magic.

Choose characters according to the enemy’s weaknesses and the support your current party lacks. Since everyone gains experience and mastery points after battle, you can rotate members without permanently disadvantaging those who sit outside the active group.
