Fields of Mistria romance and best gifts guide
Fields of Mistria has 12 standard romance candidates, plus two secret marriage options. Give characters gifts they like or love to raise their heart rank, then decide whether to pursue a relationship or remain friends.

At heart rank eight, you can ask an eligible character to enter a relationship. At rank 10, you can propose, and marriage can lead to having children. This guide focuses on useful early-game gifts rather than every item each character accepts.

The following standard candidates are listed alphabetically. Spoiler-sensitive characters appear in a separate section below.
Fields of Mistria marriage candidates and easy gifts
Adeline

Adeline is the daughter of Mistria’s barons and effectively oversees the town. She also gives you tasks connected with restoring Mistria.
In spring, forage tulips for an easy gift. During summer, collect peaches from the tree in The Narrows. Her loved gifts include peaches and cream, made with peaches, milk and sugar, and coffee. Coffee costs 100 Tesserae at Balor’s cart or the Sleeping Dragon’s Inn when stocked, and Darcy may sell it at the Saturday Market.
Balor

Balor is a travelling merchant who helps ship your items. Rubies are a convenient early gift, found on mine floors 1–19. He also likes sapphires and emeralds from deeper levels.
For stronger relationship gains, give him perfect versions of these gemstones, including perfect rubies and perfect sapphires.
Celine

Celine studies plants, cares about nature and is the daughter of the general-store owners. She likes every forageable flower, including lilacs, tulips, dandelions and daisies, making her especially easy to approach in spring and summer.
Her loved flower is the hydrangea, commonly found on the Eastern Road east of Mistria during summer.
Eiland

Eiland is Adeline’s brother and the barons’ son. He takes an interest in archaeology and often works at the museum.
He mainly likes cooked food. Candied strawberries, made with spring strawberries and sugar, are an accessible liked gift. Balor’s cart may sell them for 250 Tesserae. His loved gift, strawberry shortcake, is a later recipe but can randomly be bought from Balor’s cart or the Sleeping Dragon’s Inn for 600 Tesserae.
Hayden

Hayden farms west of your property, specialises in animal care and sells farm animals. His easiest liked gifts are ranch products: eggs, cow milk, butter and cheese.
He loves perfect versions such as golden eggs and golden cow milk. The Currency of Care ranching skill lets you collect shiny beads, which can be traded at the chicken statue near Hayden’s house for a chance to obtain these golden products earlier.
Juniper

Juniper is the sorceress who runs Mistria’s bathhouse and helps investigate the town’s magic.
She likes frogs, mushrooms, red toadstools and monster powder. Red toadstools drop from red mushroom enemies on mine floors 1–19, while monster powder comes from mine enemies. Her earlier loved options include moon fruit cake, unlocked after completing her moon-fruit request, and crystal roses from the Deep Earth section of floors 41–59. Moon fruit is a fall forage, so gather it in season.
March

March is Mistria’s blacksmith and the older brother of another town resident. He is blunt but straightforward to befriend.
Any ore or ingot works as a liked gift, so mining supplies are useful. He loves perfect ores, including perfect copper ore.
Reina

Reina helps run the inn with her family and serves as its head chef. Most of her preferred gifts are food, although she also likes cheese, flour, rice and sugar.
You need the mill to process milk, wheat, rice stalks and sugar cane. Sugar can also be bought from the general store for 115 Tesserae. Early loved recipes include cabbage slaw, made with spring cabbage and fennel, and breaded catfish, which becomes available through a notice-board quest.
Ryis

Ryis is the town carpenter and helps expand your house, build barns and complete other construction work.
His easiest liked gifts are wood, clay and stone, all common materials from clearing land. He loves hardwood from the large stumps around Mistria and on your farm; cutting them requires at least a copper axe. Many of his other loved items are golden food and ranch products.
Valen

Valen is Mistria’s doctor. You may not see her often if you avoid danger and sleep before 2 a.m.
Seaweed is one of her simplest liked gifts and can be collected by diving at dark bubbling spots in the ocean. She also likes spring dandelions. For a loved gift, prepare deep sea soup with jade dulse, mines mussels and underseaweed from mine floors 21–39.
Secret marriage candidates
Major story spoilers follow. These two characters are not available as early-game romance options.

Caldarus

Caldarus is the magical dragon being who assists your farm. He becomes romanceable only after completing a specific quest.
He likes purchasable foods such as crab cakes and beet soup from the inn. Darcy’s weekend market may also sell loved gifts including chocolate cake and ice-cream sundaes. The statuette of Caldarus, found in Eastern Road artefact spots, is loved. After upgrading the inn, you can buy seafood boils and seafood snow pea noodles, which he also loves.
Seridia

Seridia is an end-game encounter who becomes available only after the entire mines storyline is complete.
She likes lower-mine discoveries such as the four void items: void powder, void pearl, void stone and void herbs. She also accepts monster drops including monster fangs, monster shells and monster powder. Her loved gifts are the unknown dragon statuette and the dragon-forged items created during the mines quest.
Planning your gift route
For efficient early progress, collect flowers for Celine, gemstones for Balor, mine materials for March and Ryis, and ranch products for Hayden. Cooking-focused candidates such as Eiland and Reina generally require more preparation, while Juniper, Caldarus and Seridia have gifts tied to quests or deeper areas.
