Raw Thrills is preparing a Standard Edition of Fast & Furious Arcade, giving operators a smaller and less expensive alternative to the game’s substantial Deluxe cabinet.
A more compact racing cabinet
When Fast & Furious Arcade launched in October 2022, its Deluxe version made a major visual impact. The tall cabinet was particularly striking when installed as a four-unit bank, while its dual-display racing setup introduced a broader screen format to the genre.
That format suited large family entertainment centres, but the Deluxe model’s footprint and price were less practical for smaller venues. The new Standard Edition is intended to take up less room and reduce the entry cost, making a single cabinet or a smaller linked installation more achievable for other arcade locations.
Two Standard Edition cabinets can be positioned together for head-to-head play, and the IAAPA 2023 presentation was expected to show how a larger four-unit arrangement looks in operation.
Cabinet colours and ordering details
The Standard Edition is being produced in four colours: red, green, orange and yellow. Operators do not select a colour when ordering; the unit supplied is determined by what arrives through the distributor.
If an operator later orders another cabinet and wants to avoid receiving the same colour, they can provide the serial number of the existing unit to their distributor. This allows a different colour to be supplied, although the colour still cannot be chosen directly.
Software updates and pricing
The cabinet will ship with the latest software, including these changes:
- Physics adjustments that make stunts easier to trigger.
- A free-race option for the winner of a head-to-head contest.
- A new attract-mode movie explaining how to drift.
- An approximate price of $13,000 per cabinet, with the final amount varying between distributors.
The updated cabinet images show a design without the metal side blades and the larger marquee previously associated with the model. Operators ordering a pair can request the larger marquee through their distributor.
