A photograph taken during production of Amazon’s Fallout season 3 has sparked speculation that the series could eventually reach the Capital Wasteland featured in Fallout 3.
The apparent clue is a Brotherhood of Steel flag carrying a distinctive symbol. Fans believe it could represent the Order of the Quill, a Brotherhood group introduced in Fallout 3. The possibility has attracted attention in the wider arcade and gaming news community.
The image was noticed after a fan visiting the Los Angeles Natural History Museum encountered the production while filming was under way. GamesRadar and users on r/Fallout highlighted the potential connection.
Why the flag is only a clue
There is no confirmed evidence that the Order of the Quill used a flag in the games. In fact, the group’s flag has never been shown, so identifying the symbol remains an interpretation rather than proof of a new setting.
The theory also clashes with the immediate direction suggested by the television story. After the season 2 finale, Cooper is expected to travel towards Colorado. Reaching Washington would require a journey of roughly 40 days, even though the Capital Wasteland lies broadly in the same direction from New Vegas.

Could the museum represent Washington?
The Los Angeles Natural History Museum could plausibly stand in for the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington. That would allow the production to depict a Capital Wasteland location without requiring the main cast to make the entire journey.
A Washington sequence could be a flashback, a brief side story or groundwork for season 4 rather than the destination of the current storyline. The setting therefore remains possible, even if the flag does not confirm it.
Another chance for game and television crossover
Speculation around season 2 suggested that the series might lead into an announcement for Fallout 3 Remastered. Todd Howard later confirmed that the remaster is already in development, making a second opportunity for cooperation between Bethesda and Amazon an intriguing possibility.
Whether the show visits the Capital Wasteland or stays on its western route, the mystery demonstrates how a small production detail can generate substantial discussion among fans.
