Fallout Day 2026 ran across five days, beginning with a community-focused Monday and ending on Friday. Bethesda Softworks used the celebration to reveal updates, spotlight creators, run giveaways and outline what is coming to the Fallout series over the next several months.
While fans are still waiting for more information about recently announced Fallout projects, the event delivered substantial news for Fallout 4, Fallout 76 and Fallout Shelter players. For readers interested in the wider arcade and gaming scene, the RETROCADE Arcade Blog covers more industry news and announcements.

Pets are coming to Fallout
Pet-focused updates are on the way for several Fallout games. Fallout Shelter will add baby Deathclaws as adoptable pets later this year, giving vault dwellers an unusually dangerous companion option.
Fallout 76 is also receiving its World Pets update, which will be the game’s 72nd free update. From 1 December, players can take dogs, cats, Radhogs and Deathclaws beyond their campgrounds and bring them on adventures. Their attack stat remains the same, but each species provides different travel benefits.
- Dogs can locate medical supplies during combat using their strong sense of smell.
- Cats, including Robopaw Steel cats, provide improved bait to guarantee a better fishing catch.
- Radhogs can sniff out radioactive material rather than digging for truffles.
- Deathclaws help clear infestations and grant an additional legendary weapon.
Pets can be levelled up over time. Doing so unlocks perks, increased carrying capacity, additional buffs and new customisation options.
New experiences for Fallout 4
Fallout 4 is being refreshed through new Verified Creations, including projects developed with assistance from Bethesda Game Studios. The featured additions include:
- FEVer Dreams from Kinggath Creations is available now as a free, escape-room-style dungeon filled with hallucinations, flashbacks and conversations with the player’s spouse. Courtenay Taylor and Brian T. Delaney reprise their roles as Fallout 4 voice actors.
- Command Override from Hobgoblin Studios is available now. It lets players see through a robot’s eyes and control it remotely, while adding robot hacking, a RobCo headquarters dungeon and a threat to annihilate.
- Fathomless from Zone Zero Creations is planned for 2027. This cosmic-horror expansion sends the Sole Survivor beneath the Atlantic Ocean, following an ambitious pre-war expedition to a mysterious deep-sea crater.
Fallout’s focus on immersive worlds also makes it a natural fit for home gaming setups. RETROCADE’s arcade machines provide another way to bring a dedicated gaming cabinet into an Australian games room, while the arcade video collection offers more to watch.
Fallout 76 expands Skyline Valley

The Skyline Valley update improves the region’s lighting, terrain and weather, while also introducing bounty hunting. Players can visit the trading post and speak with Marshall Kane to receive payment for eliminating selected factions.
Bethesda also confirmed that Fallout 76 has now been played by more than 25 million people.
Fallout Shelter: The Experiment gets a release date
Fallout Shelter is inspiring a new competition series for Prime Video. The free-to-play game challenges players to construct and manage a vault populated by dwellers, and that premise will form the basis of Fallout Shelter: The Experiment.
Prime Video and Bethesda are producing the project with Studio Lambert, known for Squid Game: The Challenge and The Traitors, alongside Kilter Films. The series is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video on 13 January 2027.
Fallout partnerships and events
- The third annual Fallout Night with the Texas Stars takes place on 24 October. Attendees can receive a collectible Fallout bobblehead.
- The National Atomic Testing Museum in Las Vegas is expanding its World of Fallout exhibition. Two new galleries will double its footprint with interactive installations, museum artefacts and interpretive displays combining atomic history with props, costumes and memorabilia from the games and Prime Video series.
- The Fallout Cafe returns to Tower Records in Tokyo for a second year, serving themed food and selling exclusive merchandise.
- Bethesda and Jones Soda are developing Project T.W.I.S.T., or Taste-worthiness Initiative for Shelter Transition. Fans can vote on the flavour of Nuka Twist, which has not yet been established in game content, via the Jones Soda website from 21 to 31 October.
Planning a dedicated gaming space? RETROCADE’s arcade machine buying guide can help compare cabinet styles, while compact rooms may suit the range of bartop arcades.

Fallout Day 2027 confirmed
