Netflix’s The Gentlemen season 3 is now in production, bringing Elijah Wood and Orlando Bloom together on screen for the first time since the original Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Guy Ritchie’s action-comedy crime series, led by Theo James, has expanded its cast with two familiar fantasy-film faces. Netflix announced that Wood and Bloom will appear in the third season, alongside Scottish actor Robert Carlyle.
Wood is best known for playing Frodo Baggins, while Bloom portrayed the Elven archer Legolas in Peter Jackson’s film trilogy. Both actors later returned for The Hobbit films, although they appeared in separate entries and did not share a scene. Their work on The Gentlemen will reunite them for the first time since The Return of the King concluded the trilogy in 2003.

Who else is joining The Gentlemen season 3?
Robert Carlyle is the other major addition announced for the new season. The Scottish actor is recognised for roles including Begbie in Trainspotting, Mr Gold in Once Upon a Time and Dr Nicholas Rush in Stargate: Universe.
The second season arrived in September, so viewers may face a substantial wait for the next instalment. The first two seasons were separated by two years, making a 2028 return a possibility, although no confirmed season 3 release date is provided here.

What Lord of the Rings actors are returning in The Hunt for Gollum?
A separate Middle-earth project is also moving ahead. Warner Bros. has confirmed The Hunt for Gollum, with Andy Serkis directing and returning as Gollum. The story follows Aragorn as he pursues Gollum and seeks information about the One Ring.
Elijah Wood is confirmed to return as Frodo, while Ian McKellen will reprise Gandalf. Jamie Dornan will play Aragorn, replacing Viggo Mortensen. Anya Taylor-Joy, Kate Winslet and Leo Woodall are also part of the cast.
The Hunt for Gollum is scheduled for release on 17 December 2027. Before then, the next season of Amazon’s Rings of Power is set to premiere on 11 November.

While these projects belong to film and television rather than coin-operated gaming, they may appeal to collectors building a themed entertainment room. RETROCADE’s arcade machines and arcade machine buying guide offer a practical starting point for planning that space.
