DOF Robotics is moving beyond motion-based attractions with Angry Birds: Fury Road, a new arcade racing game scheduled for presentation at IAAPA 2024. The project gives the Angry Birds brand another route into coin-operated entertainment after Raw Thrills’ Angry Birds Boom!.
DOF Robotics enters the video arcade market
DOF Robotics is best known for medium-scale and large attractions rather than conventional arcade cabinets. Its portfolio includes experiences such as the Monster Jam GraveDigger VR Ride and the Hurricane 360. They’ve got more examples in the company’s entertainment catalogue.
Angry Birds: Fury Road marks the company’s first standard video arcade title. DOF Robotics is supplying the cabinet and motion hardware, while Exient is associated with the game’s software development.
What we know about Angry Birds: Fury Road
The game turns Angry Birds into a kart-style racer. It is not the franchise’s first attempt at driving games: Angry Birds Go! launched on mobile in 2013 before being delisted in 2019. A separate project called Angry Birds Racing entered closed beta testing several years ago but was never released.
It is not yet clear whether Fury Road reuses elements from either mobile project or has been built as a separate game. An Angry Birds Wiki page mentions Exient as the developer, while the studio behind Angry Birds Go! has also demonstrated the game at Play-Con, an event held several weeks before the IAAPA reveal.
In the arcade market, the title will compete for attention with other kart racers, including UNIS’ Monster Kart, which was also due to appear at IAAPA 2024. Both games were positioned as attractions for the 2025 arcade cycle, alongside the established draw of Mario Kart Arcade GP.
Motion racing hardware and cabinet features
The sales material describes a three-degree-of-freedom motion base, a natural fit for DOF Robotics’ existing expertise. The cabinet combines the racing software with a moving platform and physical effects intended to make each race more immersive.
The listed specifications and features include:
- AI-generated maps across four levels
- 55-inch 4K monitor
- Sound, vibration and wind effects
- Linking for up to eight units
- Global ranking system
- Optional ticket redemption
The wording around four levels and AI-generated maps leaves some important details unanswered. It could indicate that track layouts change while retaining their broader themes, although the exact system had not been explained. The global rankings also suggest online connectivity for recording and comparing race times.

Pricing and distribution details were still outstanding ahead of IAAPA 2024. DOF Robotics products are not widely represented among arcade distributors; a search at the time found PrimeTime Amusements as one distributor listing the company’s attractions. That situation could change if operators and distributors respond positively to the new racer.
